That ARE Changing How We Read
DON’T MISS YOUR CHANCE TO READ AND DISCUSS
THE BEST LITERATURE HAS TO OFFER
Let’s just get it out of the way—if you’re here for a commercially driven plot, this probably isn’t your vibe. But if the thought of spending an afternoon with Joan Didion's Slouching Towards Bethlehem feels like church, if Renata Adler’s sentences leave you breathless in their precision, or if you’ve ever dog-eared pages of Ottessa Moshfegh just to reread her sharpest lines, then welcome—you’ve found your people.
Our book club
isn’t for everyone.
THE PROBLEM WITH READING RIGHT NOW
Everywhere you look, it’s quick-hit book lists, algorithm-approved recommendations, or the same bestsellers recycled over and over. This is why we created So Textual: a literary home for readers who want more.
No more scrolling for recommendations you can’t trust. We curate the books that matter—timeless, overlooked, and enduring classics. We’ve got good taste.
No more surface-level chats. Here, every discussion is layered, dynamic, and inspired by a community of minds that get it. We learn the best stuff from each other.
No more reading in isolation. Join a group of readers who know that books aren’t just stories—they’re conversations, reflections, and tools for growth. Together, we make meaning.

CURRENTLY READING—
Our book club is more than just a reading list; it's a space for engaged, thoughtful dialogue where literature becomes a shared experience. Each month, we dive into works that challenge, inspire, and provoke—books that stir something deeper and push us to think critically about the world and ourselves. We favor timeless works over fleeting trends, focusing on novels, essays, and stories that leave a lasting imprint. If you're ready to explore literature that resonates, we invite you to join us.
01
Reading Now in December
In this raw, experimental novel, Quin dissects the layers of identity and repression, creating a surreal landscape where psychological tension and space distort the lines between reality and delusion.
02
Reading Next in January
This novel is a journey through family, identity, and the search for freedom, weaving myth and memory into a story that feels both epic and deeply personal. It’s a narrative that speaks to the hidden parts of ourselves.
03
Reading Next in February
Through a sun-soaked, rebellious journey across Los Angeles, Babitz captures the electric chaos of heartbreak, self-discovery, and the untamed allure of a city as wild and unpredictable as her own emotions.
