BAD BOYS

BAD BOYS

An online course, coming soon!

Our upcoming Bad Boys course takes you on a thrilling journey through literature’s most rebellious, morally ambiguous, and emotionally complex male characters. From iconic figures like Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights to the tragic allure of The Picture of Dorian Gray, we'll explore the reckless, charming, and often destructive energy of the literary “bad boy.” We’ll also dive into characters like Holden Caulfield of The Catcher in the Rye, and the dangerous, compelling world of Lolita. This course folds in the Byronic hero, merging the classic "bad boy" archetype with the "sad boys" of literature—those emotionally fraught characters like Kafka’s protagonists or the vulnerable misfits of Jesus’ Son. We’ll also examine the writers behind the bad boys, from Hemingway’s bravado to Mailer’s notorious swagger. It’s a wild ride through masculinity, chaos, and the literature that dares to romanticize it.
