Literary Chic
A seminar on the So Textual canon and why it matters.
This immersive two-hour seminar is a deep dive into the ten essential texts that form the foundation of the So Textual ethos—books that shaped the brand’s sensibility and gave texture to its world. These are the novels, memoirs, and collections that ask the right questions, that push against the grain, that make you want to underline everything.
Together, we’ll explore not only the stories and their language—what it means to read closely, to dwell in artful prose—but also the surrounding cultures in which these books emerged. We’ll discuss their authors and their eras, the subtle politics of tone, form, and gender, and the afterlives these works continue to have in the current cultural moment.
Participants will leave with a beautifully curated, hyperlinked syllabus of core readings, plus a trove of supplementary material—interviews, essays, archival finds, and visual references—to further your own personal canon.
For those who’d like to continue the conversation, an optional Q&A session is available to add on for $25—a chance to bring your personal canon, curiosities, or literary ambitions into a more intimate space with the founder of So Textual.
SATURDAY, MAY 3 at 1pm EST via ZOOM
Early bird pricing ends Friday, 4/11.
This event will be recorded and shared with all participants.
Members with active memberships before 4/1/2025 receive FREE access. Please see details in the Member portal.
